Peter Jackson says there will be yet another FotR this time with a running time of 5 hours. Apparently they finished filming parts of RoK ahead of schedule and decided since they were there they might as well go back and film bits they had to cut from FotR...to the tune of an hour of new footage.
Or so ran the rumor mill at Comic Con.

Ersby, I know exactly how your girlie feels. I refuse to read the New Testament for exactly the same reason.

Jones, you shouldn't limit yourself like that. And besides, once you get through the Koran, it all makes so much more sense...

I dunno... the Koran seems like retcon to me. Not as blatant as say... the Clone Saga, but still...
But seriously, not to change the subject of the thread, but when you think about it, doesn't the New Testament have a few elements consistent with the half-baked sequel? Like, the OT comes out, and it's well received, but the focus groups decide that god is too aloof and far away and we never really get a good look at him. So the think-tank gets together over chinese food and bottled water, and one of them goes, "What if he had like... a SON! Yeah, we'll do a story about god's son who's like totally human and everything!"
take care

...and you just know their focus group was a bunch of angsty I'm-Angry-At-My-Father teenage boys.
I'm sure we can turn this into a LotR/Bible comparison discussion. Like, did anyone else notice that Gandalf looks like Christ on the cross just as he falls into Moria? And Aragorn has a whole Jesus thing going on, and Frodo too. Those three are like the Jesus team. You bet your life Peter Jackson is aware of this.

interesting interesting all this religion/LotR kick... please continue...
but on that note: back to previous posts.. since I haven't own a copy of the movie yet, I will go get the extended version next chance I get. Then when The Two Towers comes out, I'll just rent the movie, then wait and see if that will have an extended version also.
Last night, after the 5th watching, I was holding onto the DVD like, "My Precious. My own." I don't think it's a good thing.

The second installment was kinda this:
Twenty minutes *boom slam crash*
Twenty minutes *bla bla bla*
Twenty minutes *boom crash "Kill 'em all"*
Then again "babble babble"
It's just me, btw.
*Ducks under the sheets before people starts throwing pop-corn against her*
